Coming Into His Promises

(A Word In Season)
There is a story In the book of Numbers where the Lord told Moses to send twelve men, one from each of the twelve tribes of Israel to spy out the land of Canaan, which we call the Promised Land. Canaan is a typology of the victorious life of the Christian on this earth. God brought them out of Egypt to bring them in to a land of blessing and that is symbolic for our lives.
Deuteronomy 6:23
Then He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers.
Ten out of twelve of the spies came back with a bad report because they were looking at the giants in the land rather than the blessings. These are the same men who the Lord did numerous miracles for. He gave them a cloud by day, a fire by night, manna from heaven, quails and He miraculously kept them for forty years. He also parted the Red Sea for them and six million of them walked through the sea on dry ground while God destroyed their enemies. What happened when they went into Canaan to spy out the land? Rather than remembering all that the Lord had done for them, they looked at the adversaries. This is the report that they came back with.
Numbers 13: 33
There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.
They felt defeated because they seen themselves as grasshoppers as they compared themselves to the giants. They also had to deal with the seven “ite’s” which were seven nations, and besides that it had huge walls around it. But did you know that God gave them a promise beforehand back in the book of Exodus? He promised to them that He was going to send hornets to their enemies and He would drive their enemies out little by little and He would deliver the inhabitants of the land into their hand, and they shall drive them out. (See Exodus 23: 27 – 33) Some of you are standing on the brink of Canaan. Jesus has done so much for you in your life but now you are afraid to enter into what He is calling you to. Yes there will be giants in the land as well and ite’s and there may be walls but the same promises are available to you. Two of the twelve spies were Joshua and Caleb that didn’t deny that there were giants in the land but they came back with a different report. This is what they said.
Numbers 13:30
And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
Joshua and Caleb were not moved by what they had seen. Rather than looking at the circumstances they remembered what the Lord had done for them in the past and what He had promised them. They tried to encourage the congregation.
Numbers 14: 7 – 8
They spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey.
The Israelites never made it in to the land that He promised to them because of their murmuring, complaining, fear and doubt but look what it says about Caleb.
Numbers 14:24
But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.
I understand that many of you lost your jobs and are having financial difficulties but worrying wont change anything. What you fear you empower. You have to regain your focus on the promises that Jesus has given to you. Where you are spiritually determines what you see. We serve a God that is so much bigger than the recession. When Caleb was 85 years old he was still going strong. He brought you out to bring you in to what He has for you.
Another Fantastic teaching by Pastor Chuck Baldwin concerning the “remnant” of the church!
February 21, 2009. You feel like you are on the raft in the middle of the ocean. All has been pretty calm and beautiful so far. Breezes have blown. The sun is comfortably warm. Your fresh drinking water supply is intact. But suddenly, with but a quick and low profiled warning, a storm is upon you. The winds blow, the waves become gigantic. No one is expecting you to survive. Something within you cries out to God for help. You know that He has called you. He never promised it would be easy. But now you see that all you have believed in and for is imperiled. How great is the cost? It could cost you everything just like the calling of Christ cost Him everything. Good news – you have all the faith you need to overcome and bring the greatest of victories. I believe in you because I love you.
2 Corinthians 11:24-25 “I’ve been flogged five times with the Jews’ thirty-nine lashes, beaten by Roman rods three times, pummeled with rocks once. I’ve been shipwrecked three times, and immersed in the open sea for a night and a day.” Ras Robinson
February 21, 2009. Things are coming together. You received an unexpected blessing. You knew a task had to be done, but it has begun much quicker than you anticipated. I sent the ones to help. It is being done right when it should be, according to My plans. If you will adjust, and receive My help and My helpers, you will be pleasantly amazed at what will be done. You were not planning on starting the task so quickly, but you adjusted to My schedule, rather than insisting on your schedule. If you will walk in My ways and by My instruction you will be on My time table. I bring things together.
Psalms 25:4-6 “Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Remember, O LORD, your compassion and unfailing love,” Bev Robinson

There are those in the church who are in complete denial of what is going on and where we are all headed.
There are those in the church who have come to realize all of the above….who are wiping the sleep from their eye’s and are suddenly gripped by fear, and confusion to what they’re waking up to.
(kinda like…the house is on fire, and the alarm is going off)
There are those in the church who have calmed down to some degree, and are now asking God….O.K… what do you want me to do?
And then there are those in the church who are calmly hearing The Lord, and moving.
I have come to realize that there are various stages of “waking up”.
That the first group above are still very much asleep.
The next two are in the process of waking up.
And the final group are wide awake and ready to go.
It truly is time to stop denying what is going on.
To wake up, and get moving.
To put our eye’s on The Lord and keep them there.
To open our ears/hearts to His voice, and do what He is telling us to do.
And the good news is….
If we will do this, God will absolutely protect, and provide in way’s we have never known.
Way’s that we can’t even imagine.
Right in the midst of all the bad God will and is doing good.
Now what that will look like from moment to moment, for each and every person who is choosing this walk…..I cannot say.
And I know it sounds simplistic….because it really is.
It just won’t always be easy.
It’s time to wake up, get up, and get moving!
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Isaiah 60 1-2
